This is “Gyo-za”.
Stefan’s favorite food! For dipping sauce. We make with soy sauce, vinegar and “ra-yu” (special spicy oil).
Nearly every bite Stefan said “Oishi!!! (Delicious in Japanese).
About 20 minutes later the plate was completely empty w(@ @)w

”tetsudai” means help in English. But in Japanese we often use “otetsudai” when children help their mother… so today on purpose I use this word “otetsudai” instead of using “help”.
We also have a word that mother ask her children to go shopping. We say “otsukai” in Japanese.
It’s quite interesting I often have difficulties translating words or sentences from Japanese into English or German.
So sometimes I shouldn’t use English or German words, otherwise the word loses its original meaning.
By the way today Stefan did “otetsudai” to prepare for dinner. I know he is 28 years old and shouldn’t use the word “otetsudai”. But many Japanese children love this preparation as I loved it when I was a child.
What we cooked is…”Gyo-za”. One of Stefan’s favorite Japanese food. I used garlic, cabbage, ground pork, ginger, sesame oil and so on… I couldn’t find a vegetable (special leek “nira” in Japanese) so I used a long green onion instead of “nira”.
Stuff the ingredients in a thin wrapping of dough. And use water to stick the both side!

Today is my mother’s 49th birthday.
To my regret I can’t celebrate her birthday with her any more…
But somehow I want to celebrate it every year, so this year Stefan took me to the Italian restaurant which is near our house.
Unfortunately I couldn’t toast with a glass of wine. But I had a great time with my Stefan.
Happy Birthday My Mother!!
I’ll be a mother, you’ll be grandmother!
