Last toast in Wien

727tower.jpg 727-wine.jpg As always time passes so quickly and especially when we have a beautiful time, we feel time passes much faster. Just few days staying in Wien. But I have a lots of memories. And specially I was touched by kindness of local people. And asking myself when I was in Japan and met some foreigners, was I enough kind to them?

I think I wasn’t so generous to foreigners. It’s absolutely normal sometimes they have different way of thinking and style of life. But that time I was always thinking the proverb “When in Rome do as the Romans do”. Of course there are some truth in the proverb. And if all people can do like this,  life gose very easy and smooth.

And now I’m in the same situation and I’m telling my self this proverb but often I found difficulties and started insisting on my mother culture. I’m ashamed of myself. I’m inconsistent with my old opinion. And I found out I’m lacking in acceptance and compromise.

I hope I mature more as a notice of this experience in Wien.

Wien part 2

727cake.jpg Finally I could eat Sachertorte and Apfelstrudel. Both of them are typical sweets in Austria (Wien) so it’s very easy to find a restaurant where you can eat them. But why finally I could eat…?! In Austria the size of food is soo big for me. At first Swiss food was also big for me but fortunately (maybe unfortunately) I’m get used to it. And even I’m a big eater. Eating up from an appetizer to dessert is too hard. So I just order main dish and drink here.

Sachertorte is well known in Japan and many times I’ve eaten up but of course I wanted to try original one in Wien. The taste was bit different from Japanese one as I expected. Because a lots of food are changed the taste into suitable taste for local people. For Japanese people many food from other countries are too strong taste and oily and for other countries people Japanese original food is too weak taste. Especially when you see people eat sushi from other countries they rice side of sushi dip in soy sauce too much. Normally you just fish side dip in soy sauce just little bit and enjoy natural taste of the fish. Anyway I felt too much sugar from these sweets.

727-horseriding.jpg 727horse.jpg When you walk in Wien you see many horse-drawn carriages, Stefan and I felt sorry for the horses which works very hard but we decided to ride in a carriage. The horses took and showed me beautiful scenes in Wien. And it’s unforgettable. We both really thanked the horses. Thank you very very much.

A Flower Shop in Wien

727flower.jpg 727flower-3.jpg I like visiting flower shops in different countries. You can know the fashion of flowers in each countries.

And what I found out is “hydrangea” is in the middle of summer flower in Europe. For Japanese people “hydrangea” is a one of the symbol of rainy season. Normally the rainy season in Japan is between beginning of June and middle of July.

And I think lots of Japanese people think “hydrangea” in the rain looks more beautiful and its color stands out more. But here you can see “hydrangea” under the sunlight and it’s shining more. Just a flower but this overturned my fixed idea of “hydrangea” in a good way. And it’s really fresh for me.

From now on I also want to notice tiny things and train my sensitivity.

Wien

726-coffee.jpg 726-palace.jpg 726-risu.jpg I started this morning with Melange coffee which is traditional coffee in Austria. It was more delicious than I expected. I don’t know about coffee very much so I can’t tell you what is different from any other coffee. But my tongue felt it. First we visited Schloss Schoenbrunn. Schoenbrunn means “beautiful spring”. It is worthy of its name. And it has a beautiful big garden. We enjoyed taking a walk and luckily we saw many squirrels. You can’t touch them but quite they are get used to people.

In the same area there was a park for children. Children can enjoy mazes and zoo and so on. We are old enough but we like being childish. So we played a lot here!! I can say Wien is very clean city compare to other European cities and people are very friendly and they work hard and efficiently.

I’m soo happy to be here!

Pre Honeymoon?!

725.jpg 725-2.jpg It’s already past 3 months after we had the swiss wedding. So we were supposed to be on a honeymoon. But after long Japanese holiday we were completely satisfied with it and we wanted time to thought deeply about the memory.

And finally we decided to go on Pre honeymoon. In fact we plan to go to Greece September as a honeymoon.  This Pre honeymoon we’re visiting Wien, Salzburg and Munich. I’ve wanted to visit Austria for a long time.

This morning we had coffee at the Stefan’s parents house and started a journey. From Zurich to Wien is 744 km and it’s supposed to take about 7 hours.

After 1 hour we crossed the border between Switzerland and Austria and soon we crossed the border between Austria and Germany and later….you know what I wanna write.

Yes, we made a detour and some highways were congested with senseless reasons. After 7hours later we were still west of Austria which is more than 300 km far away from our destination Wien!!

But things not always go bad. Because of our meaningless detour we were able to see a big rainbow in a valley. The rainbow was very low and I felt like I could touch it!!

Around 10 pm finally we got Wien. It was soo long journey. Thank you for driving a loooong way, Stefan!

P.S. Stefan bought a GPS Navigationsystem in Wien.
