Santa hat

santa-hat_small.jpgyuki-chan_small.jpgSometimes Stefan buys something sweet on his way home and bring it to me.

Last week he brought a little Santa hat! How cute it is!! There was something inside… Mmm..

“Chocolate!” Wa–i! But I was more interested in the hat. Of course I tried to put it on. But… my head is too big.

I don’t wanna waste of this little cute hat. Fortunately in my house we have a white small pet which is called “Yuki-chan”. (It comes from the “Heidi” story. One of the famous story from Switzerland!)

For Yuki-chan the hat was little bit big but no problem. She looks very cute and looks like Santa Claus’s partner!

No!!!! Yuki-chan isn’t a reindeer, she is a goat!!!

By the way lots of people in Japan know “Heidi”. I think children not so much. Because the Heidi was on TV very long time ago. Because of this when Japanese people hear “Switzerland” some of them answer “Heidi”.

But as far as I know when I tell about this to Swiss people, they are not so happy. (Especially young ages) Because they don’t smile. Maybe they don’t like the imagies “Just mountain and green” I mean imagine of countryside. Since then I stopped saying this to Swiss people.

Like… when Japanese people meet foreigners and they say “sushi” or “camera”. We are also tired of hearing this. But one thing different is we smile even we don’t like it. But not so much when you look at their eyes properly you will notice.

Interesting culuture difference! But sometimes difficult to understand each other even we use the same language to communicate. But I can say there are some things which are impossible to get over. Because of different nationalities.

Winter

1105876647.jpgWe often compare life to seasons. During Summer you release your stress and enjoy days deeply. During Fall you charge your energy to get over the coming hard Winter. But nobody can guess this coming Winter is very hard or not and also when the Winter is over.

If there is no Fall to prepare the Winter, it is much harder to overcome for you. And probably you struggle to get Spring.  And sometimes life is tight. The harder you try to get out of the situation, you get stuck deeper. Like you are sinking into a bottomless swamp.

Sometimes the Winter is very hard than you expected and also comes very early.

Like you are in a snowstorm and very difficult to find a house which is light on but you can’t escape from this. To get out of here you have to walk even you don’t have enough energy.

Why you are happy when Spring comes?  Because you know how Winter is and managed it.

Why you can say “this is easy”? Because you know difficult things.

Especially after long and hard winter, you will be more delighted and thank more for the Spring. Like It rains in a drought area.

You can’t enjoy Spring completely without overcomig hard and long Winter.

Life goes on…

Birthday

118birthday-cake.jpgToday is Stefan’s 28th birthday! Yesterday we celebrated his birthday in a Japanese restaurant in Zurich. I drank white wine and Stefan drank red wine. We have a little problem?! about wine. I only can drink white wine but Stefan doesn’t like white wine. So when we go to a restaurant and order wine, I order white and Stefan orders red. I don’t know why but when I see couples who enjoy the same wine from the same bottle of wine, they look cool… Anway we both enjoyed the meal and happily dranken. We had a nice evening.

Today we went to the restaurant where we had our wedding. Having dinner with Stefan’s parents is always fun. We enjoyed  talking and the nightview over the great meal.

I made a chocolate cake because Stefan only can eat chocolate… He is a quite gourmet?! and a special album which took me more than 2 weeks. And now I’m relieved that he liked both!

Stefan “Many happy returns of the day!”

colored leaves

momiji_small.jpgmomiji-2_small.jpgTime passes so quickly. It’s already November! Just 2 months and 2009 is over!!

I have to little bit push myself to catch up my To Do List 2009.

The tree is in the garden of my parents-in-law. It’s a maple tree! We call it “momiji” in Japanese. I’m so happy to see “momiji” in Switzerland!

In Japan it’s very common that people go to some specific places to see and enjoy “momiji” in Autumn. For example in Kyoto when you visit temples in day time you can enjoy autumn leaves in a normal way but when you visit in the evening you can enjoy the autumn leaves which are illuminated! It’s very fantastic so worth visiting.

Generally temples and shrines are closed at 17 o’clock but in Spring and Autumn are special time. They close also at 17 o’clock and about 2 hours later they open again! This is for tourists to enjoy “sakura” in Spring and “momiji” in Autumn!
